EXTERMINATE! it’s amazing who you meet Xmas shopping in Perth. Yes I’m the new Dr Who, the time travelling folkie. Turns out all you need to thwart their bid for domination of the universe is a whute picket fence…..

Sunrise on Kinnoull Hill near Perth. The River Tay winds its way towards the North Sea. As you can see winter is very much upon us and the skiers are getting twitchy…
The iconic Perth image of the Tower on Kinnoull Hill. You have to be careful because the cliffs are deadly…
‘Dae ye see yon high hills, A’ covered o’er wi’ snaw’…..this is the Highland Line – the great division between the fertile Perthshire farmlands and the wild mountains beyond, where Gaelic was mostly spoken until fairly recently. The southern part of Scotland is not remotely flat but all the peaks over 3000 feet (and there are over 300 of them) lie beyond this great hurdle. In the foreground The River Tay runs towards Perth.

Happy St Andrew’s Day

by on Sunday, November 30th, 2014

Susie and I have two very special reasons for celebrating St Andrew’s Day. Beth is 17 today and Sandy is 13 so we’ve now got two official teenagers. We went ‘Doon Toon’ into Perth where they have wonderful Festive happenings running up to Xmas, including these handsome critters. Beth was then off for her surprise first driving lesson… Tonight it’s a meal at our favourite French restaurant and then the third Hunger Games movie at the cinema.
