Tour Scotland with Jim Malcolm
Jim Malcolm’s concerts are like a musical tour through Scotland’s landscape and history, with humour his constant companion. Jim and I (I’m ‘her indoors’, Jim’s wife Susie) thought it would be fun to hire a coach and, over ten or eleven days, take an audience-sized group on a real tour of Scotland, visiting ancient castles, beautiful islands, forlorn battlefields, medieval Edinburgh, a whisky distillery, Robert Burns country and several of our own special places off the beaten track, while in the evenings enjoying concerts from many of Scotland’s finest musicians. Jim would keep us laughing all the way; I would make sure we had lovely hotels in which to stay.
We took the first of these occasional holidays in 2011, and the experience exceeded even our optimistic hopes. We had so much fun! We have now added a second itinerary, taking us to the isles of Orkney and Skye; and a third itinerary taking us through Scotland’s borderlands and over to the lovely island of Mull.
We lead two of these trips each year, in May and June.
Here’s what some of our travellers have said about their time with us:
“Where to begin to express our thanks and appreciation for the once in a lifetime Scotland experience? This was the best trip I have ever been on. I’ve been asked over and over…..’what was the best part of the trip?’…a question that can’t be answered with a few words…everything was the best part of the trip!” Jane from Rhode Island
“I cannot say enough about what this trip meant to me. To get to combine such a beautiful country and such beautiful music was a rare treasure that I will wear near my heart forever.” Tracy from Columbus OH
“Our trip was a life-changing event for us. The trip exceeded all of our dreams and expectations.“ Bill from MD
“Susie and Jim, you are born to entertain and guide and teach and share. You both have a wonderful and easy sense of humor and genuine love of people. It was extraordinary! Thank you. Your sense of people is dead on.” Patty, Chicago
